Rest On High – Aerial Burial

Rest On High is an Aerial Ash Scattering business located in eastern Washington state, operating out of the Richland airport in Richland, Washington.  We use a Cessna 172 high wing aircraft with a specially designed proprietary ash chute to release the ashes below the aircraft.  Each release is from a special clean, sealed, and labeled canister.

Why Rest On High?

Rest on High will exceed your expectations for dignified handling of the remains, exceptional communications, and service.  The business owns the aircraft used for aerial ash scattering and is therefore not subject to rental arrangements or scheduling issues. The aircraft has been fitted with a specially designed proprietary aerial device which releases the ashes into the free airstream from below the aircraft by activating a mechanical release valve.

Aerial release of a loved one’s remains into the winds aloft has been found by many to be a very uplifting experience. To enhance that experience, Rest On High will also accommodate the release over specified locations and coordinate a viewing of the release from the ground.  It has been said that releasing the remains into the winds above the earth provides the loved ones with a feeling of freedom and a release rather than grieving the loss. Releasing a loved one’s ashes into the air can create a great sense of freedom and satisfaction.

Rest On High is licensed by the Washington State Department of Funerals and Cemeteries, the City of Richland and the Federal Aviation Administration.
